Mark of infinity

Where that water droplet falls,

And causes a ripple throughout my thoughts,

Taking in a deep breath,

As the sensation fills my mind.

Can you see I'm breathing hard?

I wonder where I placed that pill,

That takes me pain away,
Hardening my will against your gaze,
Holding hard on to reality.

What have we gained from it all?

-From a drop to a ripple

Well School has started, and so its back to presentations and group work. I've been having a little bit of trouble concentrating as I find I have lost alot of pace since the end of the first half of the semester. Guess I've got to pick up the pace and focus even harder to continue what I've been doing so well at. This is going to be a wordy post, that is probably reflecting of my usual writing style, to be honest, the amount I write on this blog is considered very little to me, but I'll try to not write too long...

Canoe camp has started to reflect the bond of the canoe guys alot, which reminds me of the old times, when a team was so close. Its just started, and requires alot more bonding sessions thats for sure. Its a pity the girls of the canoing have yet to bond like that, their still fragmented, but then again, they've not been around as long, only a handful of the girls have been around as long as us. I was the very first guy to sign up during the IG showcase and 2 and a half months later, I'm enjoying the choice I made greatly, perhaps it requires quite abit of sacrifices, but most things do, and it feels good to be in one of toughest IGs in RP, its truly not for the weak, this isn't leisure Kayak, its Sprint Canoe, where your lactic thresholds and mental thresholds are tested time and time again, I've seen how much sweat and pain the Seniors go through, and how much more they've done compared to the rest of us, and what is to come, the sheer accomplishment of pushing oneself to that level. Its been such a long time since I've had a hint of such a challenge, a chance to push my mental limit that doesn't involve martial arts.

Breaking that stick in my hand,
I listening to the sound as it cracks,

From the first fibre to the last,
Crushing away all that was there.

I take a moment to look at what was.

Its a broken peice that I'll keep aside,

To remember the choice I made,

The words written on it bears the mark,

Of the long time spent taking care of it.

And now I've broken it. -The broken stick.

Recent times have put me a little off course in terms of my focus of studies, but fortunately has not affected my grades, I'd say I went through a tough time mentally during the final week of the first half of the semester. And after going through my mid sem break, meeting up with close friends, canoe training... I find I've pulled through something that would otherwise would affected me in a negative way.

I'd say, in my time in RP(which isn't long) I've met so many new people, whom I hope to keep close with for a long time, its not going to be easy, but its worth working on. At the end of the day, my strongest bonds are still with my secondary school friends which have lasted until today, and are still strong, I do hope to meet the people whom you don't simply forget after a while, I hope to make friends who last, and are worth your time and attention.

Where there is a reason,
To stare into the infinity,

You'd understand why I sin,

With the choices I'm given,

Living proof of what I uphold,
I am the one who bears the mark,
The mark of who I am.

-Mark of Infinity

Thats it for today. To all, I bid thee adieu.

Aerodynamics

A sign of affection in a private place,
Words once exchanged,
Mean so much,
If it was to come.

Waiting at the door,
With it ajar,
Is one ready for the choice,
Aren't we allowed to make it?

For we are products of sin,
Just living this pleasent dream,
Not knowing what the future truly holds,
Only knowing that we can do what we can.
-Lighting that candle

Alright, I've been away for the past 3 days for my Canoe camp which I must say, is truly what an orientation should be like, fun, exciting, dumb...(And when I mean dumb, so dumb you think its retardly[No such word I think] retarded...)

The reason why I went to poly? To stop uni and go for a poly course? I have several, one is passion and interest in sports and the keen interest in problem based learning, and lastly... the experience of poly life! And I have to say, in the time I've joined RP, this is the best poly experience I've had so far! I guess I should try other camps too, to have more comparison for RP camps.

Introducing... My Camp Group: AeroDynamics!

Alright, The top left is Baki, followed by Ester, Angeline, Julia... Then the three guys below are Tommy, me and Alzee... The girl next to him isn't our team(Very extra =X) Her name is mingdee or something...

Here is a forfeit from the many games we played... This is Jafir dancing with Fishy.

Here's the no.1 game played during camp. Its called Tonkat Ali

Here is a video to show how the game is like.

It produced forfeits like this...

Here is Jafir and Kumar showing their brotherly love...

Here is a pic of Dominic being licked by Bob the builder.

This is Jafir having his hairy belly licked by Melvin!

And the last video... The best cheer of the camp presented by NGC

Here is the close group of canoe bros, who work hard together.

That was it, the photo was taken when we broke camp. It was a tiring camp, but something to remember and cherish. It was a time that allows bonding that can't be done simply in a non stay in orientation. Thats it for now, Adieu to all!

Say a line, in this sunshine

Counting the seconds has the hand moves by,
The thoughts beating against our hearts,
Of the choices we'll make,
Of the path we'll take.

There's an empty photo frame on the floor.

Tuesday was good, went to Vivo city with Samantha and Victoria. Victoria wanted to shop... So samantha and I went around with her.

Shopping at Vivo

Samantha, Victoria and me

The retarded way of wearing a cap...

The correct way of wearing a cap.

Victoria's Hairdo.

A moment at a mirror outside the changing room

Here's an interesting display of shoes

We met up with Dao Qing and went to shop even more... hours later... We find ourselves in the skypark at vivo.

Victoria, Dao Qing, Samantha and me

Dao Qing with his retarded pose

Samantha and me

It was a long day, we went to peninsular plaza there to look around and then had dinner at Funan food court...(When you follow people's ideas of finding food.. you find yourself going in circles) After that Samantha and I split from Dao Qing and Victoria to go watch a movie... Samantha wanted to watch Kung Fu Panda... So I watched it again. The other two went off to do more shopping...(I really thank god I went for a movie...)

As for today, I met up with Teena for awhile at Novena square at TCC and she bought me a drink and we caught up. I had a kenyan AA coffee which was alright while she had some jap sounding coffee drink. It was good to catchup with her before she leaves for Africa. Thanks for the coffee! =)

After that, went to the gym and for the first time in a long time, burnt 1000 calories on the cross trainer. If you think it melts away fat, it melts away stress too! After that, dear sis picked me up from the club and we went back to change and go to bar bar for dinner. Tried the olive rice from the new thai stall.. It was alright, along with my pip squeak cider(Its a really strange name for a cider) Dad joined us for dinner and we all caught up. My family's been away most of the time, the whole of last week, I was the only one in Singapore. Dad and sis was in Belgium, Mom's in vietnam, Bro's in Australia, and poor ol kwan's stuck in Singapore, but then again it was still good! Thanks to people I met up with =) What a great mid sem break so far! Canoe camp tommorow!

All right, thats it for now. Adieu to all! I'll update when I'm back from camp which starts from tommorow to Saturday.

Fingers across the piano

I draw a figure eight with my finger across your arm,
Guiding your mind in the right direction,
Listening to everything you mention,
Savouring this sweet connection.

Mix it up and let go.

All those words coming from your lips,
Dancing in this poetry of motion,
Holding you at your hips,
I reach down and kiss your lips.
-The dance

I woke up to a breakfast of hard boiled eggs, vegetable juice and olive oil drizzled spinach fettucini! Went off to the school gym to work out as I needed to use the heavier weights there(Also to put my extra stuff in my locker for the upcoming canoe camp!)

Met up with the canoe seniors and a few of the juniors and we all trained there. It was a nice quiet day, and its so nice to have a non crowded gym, with no one to contest you for the weights. Samantha had dancing training, so we met up after she finished and we headed off together to bukit batok via mrt(She's off to her dad's clinic, I'm off to home to prepare to go out).

She's a stubborn little girl if you ask me...I think she needs to be educated...In the virtues of making good choices :P Well, lets all work together to help her stop smoking people! I rushed home and went to town to meet up with Shen Yong. We went to starbucks and she bought me a Hot chocolate grande(I just love hot chocolate!) and we shared a cheesecake.

Da jie Shen...(Thanks for the hot chocolate!)

Shen and me

She looks emo in this pic...

As usual, we did not have enough time to finish catching up. She wants to meet up next week at Timber for a drink, never been there... Have always been a wala wala goer...(I prefer pubs over clubs anytime...I like to hear the people I talk to and enjoy a proper drink...not some watered down glass of ice...Unless its the members area... but then its still crap compared to a bar!)

On the way to bus stop after sending her to her workplace at nydc... I saw a really nice building... and I just had to take pictures of it. I wonder if its a condo or something...I wouldn't mind living there.

Look forward to tommorow! Adieu to all!

Lean on me

Fly across this ocean of clouds so white,
And take in the sky so blue,
Breath in deep and feel the sensations,
As your mind reaches its peak.

When was the last time I saw you go?

Play that song one last time in your head,
And sing along to it as I whistle,
This tune that we share,
Like a duet in this summer night.

Hold my hand.

Yours fits mine perfectly,
Make a wish with your wish stick,
And share it with me,
Close your eyes and trust me.

Cause I'd hold you tight.
-Across the mind

What a week, I must say its been one fun and interesting week, from catching up with old friends, canoe training, gym training, runs... mini birthdays...beach outings... Eating at restaurants...And just chilling out at home to a bottle of Macallen with the company of friends. I must say, Looking back at it all, I have to say I've been living well. =)

Yesterday it was raining heavily, so I woke up late and headed to macritchie around lunch to go and support my seniors in Canoe in the womens national competition. It was a rainy day, and it was pretty cold.

Its a cold rainy day...

The coaches sitting down watching with their umbrellas.

With the whole lot of us huddling under a tent that doesn't even belong to RP

The competition lanes in macritchie

Check out the manly bob the builder with his cute mickey mouse umbrella!

That evening, after some home training, I went with my dad to Bar Bar for north indian food and drinks.

At the end of the meal, with a finished pint of hoe garden... along with the hand written bill for indian food.

After dinner, Samantha came over to go for a long walk with me. We walked to serene center and met up with her cousin for a while... with her smoking like a chimney... Then we continued to town through farrer and went to cineleisure to watch Narnia... It was so LONG. It was interesting, but you feel like its going to end live several times in the show and still goes on... Still, it was a blast! By the time we finished the movie, it was 3am... neither here nor there, and Samantha was too tired to walk back, so we decided to chill and chat about life... With me telling her a story about how a tree grows... (I am long winded...I know)

We talked until the bus started coming by, and we took a bus back, and finally crashed at home to have a nice long sleep...(For her... I slept from 7 to 12)

Went with my dad for shopping and lunch at Ding Tai Fung! Second time this week... so many dumplings... I've not eaten so many dumplings in one week.

In life, when daddy's there... ITS FREE

Xiao long bao

Vegetable and minced pork dumpling...

We also had spinach...Beef tendon noodles and Prawn Shiew mai. The presentation wasn't as interesting, so I'm not featuring the pictures.

We went to this shop at shaw building and I took a photo with my dad... At the same time, I noticed a mirror at the side of the entrance so I decided to have a little fun... Being the bored kid in a store waiting for his parent.

My Dad and me

Here's the mirror, it created an interesting effect. (This what I decided to do when bored...)

I look forward to the next few days! Well thats it for this post! Adieu to all!

Morning toast and Evening Tiramisu

I've got my heart set on this choice,
Never glancing back to see,
What could have been,
Because I'm living now.

There is so much value in now.

We are all given something,
The gift of now is the present,
Treasure every moment of it,
Because its the one your living now.

Live it.
-The gift of the present

I met up with my old army friend Robert for breakfast in the morning at Lot 1, we had Yat Kun Kaya toast for breakfast! We caught up about our current lives, talked about finances and stuff. The last time I saw him was when I just orded. Its good to catch up with old friends.

Here is a photo of Robert! (One of the most matured guys I've met around my age)

A photo of Robert and me. (I think its time for a haircut for me)

We watched Kungfu panda after and had lunch. After that I went home to rest for awhile before going for a run before dinner. Dinner was at Prego with Shah. I've got no pictures of Shah because she doesn't like her picture being taken.

Here is the display of the yummy tiramisu!

The chef preparing a dessert to be served shortly...

Here's an empty bowl of tiramisu which tasted really good.

Well that was it for my friday! Morning Toast and Evening Tiramisu! Adieu to all!

Light a candle

Looking through the looking glass,
Everything behind it seems so white,
A world was long lost to us,
Can we bring it back?

Smash through the glass and reach for it.

Hold your breath and close your eyes,
Dive with me into these cold waters,
Immersing ourselves in this purity,
And sinking to bottom of it.

Weighed down by our taint.

Let it all be washed away,
So that we might rise,
Hold onto my hand,
And become undone.
-Wash it away

Today I went to ding tai fung and ate a million dumplings! (Well its an over over exaggeration, but... I ate about 20 dumplings in total) Had lunch with my old family friend Landy. We caught up and discussed about life, and of course it was a very good advice session for me. Thanks Landy!

Rushed home to change and head to town to meet Victoria and Samantha... We ate at Es teler 77(An indonesian restaurant introduced by Victoria) and then headed back to my place for Macallen and Wii! The girls were dancing a little, and Samantha showed me a few dance steps. (I'm one stiff chicken...)

Here is a photo of me, Samantha and Victoria

Here's samantha and I playing wii, look how "cool" we look! (Apologies for the poor lighting and lack of flash!)

After a couple of games of the wii, we decided to sit outside and chill over a glass of macallen.

It was a great evening, with Victoria telling her lame jokes...(I don't know how she can even dare to tell it to a crowd...I'd hide my face...)

I think a better joke would be....

Confucious say... Men who put both hands in pants...Feel Cocky. =P

Alright, thats it for today. Adieu to all!
